Sunset & Night Jazz Festival 2021

Curva Minore moves music in times of Covid, continues its work of musical contamination, building bridges between different cultures and genres, with the involvement of international artists and musicians. Artistic actions in which different languages ​​of the contemporary intersect, musical cultures ranging from improvisation to classical music, from European to Mediterranean music, from Afro-American blues to jazz and electronics, from performative actions to those relating to the “soundscape”, with the passion and dedication that distinguished its late founder Lelio Giannetto.

The festival opens with Alessandro Panicola and his rich Bossa Nova repertoire, from the historical composers of Samba-Canção to the great classics of Brazilian song up to the harmonic experiments and evolutions of the genre, and continues with Wise One, a trio composed of Domenico Sabella (drums), Marco Ardizzone (saxophone) and Daniele Collura (accordion), who offers a repertoire of jazz classics with Afro and Cuban influences, towards unexplored musical boundaries. Sunday 1 August a unique appointment at 7:00 pm with the musical project Mudita Noise of Love, composed of Domenico Sabella, Calogero Genco (saxophone) and Alfredo Giammanco on electronic instruments. On August 12, the final evening will feature the world music of Karabà, a band composed of Bintu Badiane (vocals and bass), David Badiane (piano) and Ruggero Di Luisi (drums), who will take us around the world on a crossover journey between jazz, trip-hop, hip-hop and soul. A musical band that has been carrying out a project of musical research and experimentation for five years, so as to propose an innovative and contaminated sound style. The evening will also feature two special guests, pianists and composers Mojca Zupancic and Rok Zalokar, who will make the whole thing even more dynamic, varied and unique.
